Hannah Marie Country Inn is an award-winning establishment on a 200-acre northwest Iowa farm. Travelers find this six-guestroom inn easily as it is located on Hwy. 71, four miles south of Spencer. The inn's two country Victorian houses are joined by a covered veranda -- just the place for reading, sipping tea, and watching butterflies.
There's a warm welcoming spirit here. The 1910 parlor and the fireside room have greeted hundreds of guests over the years. To start the enchantment, dessert, coffee, and hot or iced tea are served by candlelight early in the evening.The Romance of Country theme inspired the interior design of the lodging and gardens: Trope l'oeil paintings magically created an Italian Courtyard room for dining; folk painting brought an English Village Tea Room into view; and French Impressionist prints are displayed in the Gallery dining room.
To add to your enjoyment, choose a hearty breakfast by candlelight, or a lite-breakfast basket brought to your guestroom door. For your comfort, we've added central air, softened water and bathing bubbles.

VINTAGE ROSE SUITE 1910 -- You will be treated to complete pampering in this roses and cherubs decorated bed chamber and boudoir with double whirlpool and 1910 dressing table. There are love letters to read and a combing gown to wear. $120.
ROMANTIC LAMPLIGHTER -- Pink roses surround the double whirlpool in this romantic room with mood lanternlight and Sherlock Holmes memorabilia. $95.
SOUTH SEAS ISLAND -- Dream amidst wisteria blossoms and lighted paper lanterns. Relax in a skylighted double whirlpool. This lovely room is decorated in white with gold and aquamarine blue accents.$95.
NORTHWOODS HIDEAWAY -- Cuddle in a papasan loveseat in this "cabin in the woods." Enjoy skylighted double whirlpool bathing, stuffed forest animals, knotty pine wallpaper and grandpa's checkers. $89.
ENCHANTING SAFARI -- It's a magical walk through a wooden beaded curtain to skylighted double whirlpool. Enjoy the bed weilings in this colorful and enchanting room. $89.
ELIZABETH - THE GENTEEL WOMAN -- Enjoy complete comfort in Country Victorian style. There are two rooms (a guestroom and a private full bathroom), a single whirlpool-shower combination, queen and twin feathered-beds with goosedown comforters (additional person - $15). This cozy country inn was founded in 1986, and was the first country inn in northwest Iowa by the Nichols family -- Ray, Mary, and son Dave. As Dave is deaf, sign language is also spoken. Hannah Marie was Mary's mother, a Swedish country woman born a mile or two from the Inn. Mary's Dad was Danish and grew up in Spencer, Iowa. Come and savor the best Swedish pancakes and Danish sebelskivers you'll ever taste.
Spencer is a wonderful small Iowa town of approximately 13,000. People here willingly share their culture and hospitality through their daily living and special activities and events. Volunteerism is active, culture is supported, and the main street businesses still close on Sundays. Come.
