Lakeside Bed and Breakfast is a colony of individual cottages, recently renovated and decorated to reflect a historic "lakes resort" theme.
All of our cottages sleep two people and are located on the shore of Lake East Okoboji. Each private cottage has its own recently remodeled bathroom complete with shower. All cottages are air conditioned for summer comfort, and heated for those cool summer evenings.
A full gourmet breakfast is served overlooking the lake on either our patio or in the Lakeview Dining Room. Fresh items from our herb garden are used in our cooking and baking. The Lakeside B & B maintains a private dock and decks for guests directly on 210 feet of lakeshore.
Off our main deck, is the Roof Garden Room which is a public room complete with an extensive collection of books, games, TV and a place for gathering with friends. Lakeside is the only B & B on the lake and we have created a relaxing environment to encourage you to "downshift" from your daily pressures. Lakeside is located within walking distance to a swimming beach and restaurant. We have a dock for guest's boats. Bring your bike, as we are located on the Dickinson County Bike trail.
The Manhattan is decorated in white wicker furniture complete with draped mosquito netting over the bed. It is named after the famous Manhattan Beach Hotel, which was on the west shore of West Okoboji. This cottage is directly on the lake with a Queen bed with a wonderful view of the lake and glass shower. This is a favorite for Honeymooners.
The Orleans is a cozy lakeside cottage with a Queen bed. Decorated in antique resort furniture it is named after the Orleans Hotel that stood as the anchor of steamer and train travel on the south shore of Spirit Lake. This cottage is also directly on the lake with an in room soaking tub and shower.
The Crandell is decorated in a lodge theme with specially designed twig furniture. It is named after a hunting and fishing lodge that was located on the north shore of Spirit Lake. This cottage has a Queen sized bed and shower with a lake view. 
The Templar named after the hotel which was located on Spirit Lake's west shore, has a high-backed antique Queen sized bed, draped with mosquito netting. This cottage has a bathroom with a glass shower, and a lake view.
In addition to relaxing at the Lakeside Bed and Breakfast, you will find the Okoboji summer Theater, Lakes Art Center, historic Arnold's Amusement Park and Maritime Museum. You might be interested in touring the Gardner Cabin, Dickinson County Museum or taking a ride on the Historic Queen excursion boat. There are 6 golf courses in the lakes area. We have over 40 antique and gift shops and numerous restaurants for any time of dining. We can also help you rent boats or jet-skis.
Reservations can be made by calling 1-712-336-3414. A two-night minimum stay on weekends and Holidays. All rates are single or double occupancy and include a Full Gourmet breakfast. One night deposit by check or credit card is required to confirm a reservation and refundable with a 7 day notice. Rates for the 2001 Season are $95-115. (Plus tax) depending on the cottage and month of your visit.
