![]() ![]() Unlike many homes of bygone eras, The Queen Marie has always been a single family dwelling and has never undergone major renovation. J.J. Shaw, the local lumber and hardware baron, built this beautiful Victorian home in 1890. The spectacular open staircase with its meticulously carved oak, simply shows the reason she is called The Queen Marie. The brass laced fireplace is stil intact and brings warmth and beauty to the living room, especially during the cold nights. The serenity and Victorian beauty of The Queen Marie wil enchant you and leave you with fond memories of your comfortable stay... ![]() Many couples have spent their wedding night in the Blue Room. When we arrived we were told we would be the new people in town for 20 years! But our enthusiasm for Emmetsburg must have been obvious since within the last two years, seven of our family members have also moved from the west coast to Emmetsburg. ![]()
